Sunshire cat, trying not to be seen

From the room we call our ‘office’, here on ground level, I can see out our back window to the neighbors’ yard as they come and go doing dishes in the sink out back. They also seem to help out the local wild cats, as there are a handful of them that prowl this narrow fence, usually dropping down on the other side. On this occasion, midday sun means this tail-wagging alert feline is a bit more noticeable.

Dang, is this my first cat photo on the blog? Amazing, given their population on the web!

[Caton S110, possibly cat-metered for the contrasty conditions; Catperture enhanced for exposure and maxed out the sharpness–this was shot through  a window screen right in front of the lens]

After the unfolding, I explored the branch with shallow depth o’fiels.

Out by the front door, we have some potted palm plants. This one was developing a new shoot, branch, whatever it’s called. Fascinating to literally watch it unfold over the days.

Right! it took til now to remember… this is a dragonfly! and a tired or patient one at that, noted in our front garden when returning from the mailbox. Plenty of time for several angles, iphone shots and the canon shots with and without flash.

Roof Laundry

It’s warm enough, even now in the ‘frigid’ winter season, that most folks appear to put their laundry out to dry, various places outside, or indoors as we do to minimize the dust on the laundry. Probably save a lot on electricity, but there’s not much market for clothes dryer manufacturers!

Sorry about the gap there, it’s been busy with illness and travel planning. Scheduling some posts now, sticking with the even dates, should run almost two weeks. In that time, hope to post more.

Thanks Scott Anderson!

He is the designer of the theme I’m using for this blog. I wrote him about how to reduce the height of the header and he came back with pinpoint instructions so now every viewer saves some scrolling effort. Hurrah!

While the bride and groom were in the ballroom greeting guests, the priest readied the wedding pavilion in an adjoining room.
