this time a different location, along the cliffs of roughly West New York, on a windy and frigid afternoon. Thence it was time to return to India.

Hill Walk and Link

Not sure what a ‘bullet photo’ is but using 100 pinhole film cameras in a ring to catch action shots and turn them into a video… is something! The 4-minute video is interesting!

Now for a ‘today’ shot to freshen up the old stuff:

Walking in the hills enjoying sea fog rolling in and sunset, came to an opening and saw the sun rays peeking across treed ridge and below the fog, and a person and dog walking on the Rice Ranch trails across the way.

Sun, glass, powerful stuff! Afternoon glare from a building in Manhattan spotlights our living room. I should go out and see how it lights up the rest of our condo building, but it sure gets your attention when shining in your periphery.

Also wondering how film would handle same, vs. digital sensor…

Happy November! I guess that was the occasion, fireworks appx lower Central Park in Manhattan, as seen from the NJ coast 1 Nov 2013.

Part of my informal ‘fun with panning’ series, digital edition. The S110 doesn’t have a ‘neutral density’ feature that I’m aware of so best I can do is stop down to smallest aperture and lowest iso, in this case about 1/60 sec and 80 iso, and spin away. I did quite a few with this house/corner/tree and these are about my faves.

Could probably also do a slower, manual shutter speed exposure in raw format, and try to correct the overexposure in computer. Next time!

Eat Food…

Kirkville comments on ODPHD new dietary guidelines. Um, wait, the blog post made it sound new but it’s labeled 2015-2020. Hm.

Autumn foliage from a photo walk around our Cliffside Park neighborhood in Oct. 2014. After some time in tropical south India where we don’t have such an experience of changing of colorful tree leaves, blue skies, low angle sun, cool air, smell of wet ground and so, it was quite a delight.

Probably more of these images coming in following posts as I catch up.

One of my first treats coming back to NJ after being abroad: the egg-cheese-bacon on everything bagel at the bagel deli. Mmm. Yumm. Not quite the way Craig Lee would photograph it, but there was also hunger involved!

After spending a long time in Bangalore, I got a refreshing stopover in Frankfurt, roamed the airport for a while including this view over the autobahn on a quiet morning. Quite a different environment.

Tropical flower detail.

I left off posting pix way back in 2013 so there is a long way to catch up. During this time, I was spending a lot of time at Electronics City at our showroom/workshop, working on 3D printing, etc. The grounds there are mostly dirt with tropical plants and for a time, a food garden. I would photograph a fair number of plants purely for their color, the light angle, form, etc. I don’t know what the plants are but in coming posts you’ll see a fair bit of plant life.

Late afternoons I walk the dog, sometimes in the open space trails around town, and on this day, I took the S110 along to get some better images. This is some rain virga in the sunset glow over Santa Maria CA. Some Aperture cropping and tweaking, but pretty close to original.
