Banana bread, made in our microwave/convection oven, possibly with only one electric interruption. Not from the same bananas in the other photo.

A nice bunch of bananas the 4″ variety, on the perimeter of the land of the workshop in Electronics City.

Yes, unlike some recent images this is an actual live lizard type creature. Probably about 12″. Grabbing some morning sun til some darn westerner came along with some gadget pointed at it.

Hey time to take a break from historical photos to current, and some more wild visual action! These sunset-lit clouds a couple weeks ago in central CA were impressive but Aperture’s Toy Camera filter really makes them rock! Or whatever the kids say these days.

Soaking Sun

Like a satellite dish receiving radio waves, this flower on the work grounds grabs some nourishing sun waves.

Ok so enough of the animals, now on to plants. This is a flowery tree we had in a planter in front our home, until the planter cracked, so we took it to the work campus and planted it outside the canteen (background), where it grew slowly but at least kept going.

Blur in the presence of greatness

Not being locals we weren’t sure why large lit idols would appear over streets like this, perhaps some festival or observance, but looks impressive esp at night, like the god is flying over the street, in this case, Durga and tiger.

Sorry about the blur.

Continuing the underfoot wildlife theme, not intentionally, noted this resident of the grounds while out at night with the puppy. He liked to put his paw on them and we tried to stop him licking them, but, you know, puppies…

Barefoot hazard

On a routine walkabout the grounds, noticed this unfortunate snake nearly under foot. Good thing I always wore chappals/sandals/flip-flops outdoors.

Fuzzy New Neighbor

Not long after returning from the coastal visit in early 2014, a new visitor, or rather, life partner joined up with us, a German Shepherd puppy, son of two watchdogs at a client’s factory. Three guinea fowl (source of the feather in the earlier image) check out the new arrival taking his lunch.

Now that I’m looking at it, I discover the interesting collection of twos as well as a 3 and a 1.

Some of the aforementioned shells, one unfortunate fish, and um, crustaceans (?) in a rock, plus sea birds and boats at sunset over the bay.

I tried to make some recordings of the waves and sea but there was quite a bit of background noise so it’s not as nice and relaxing as hoped.

Two vus of our Villa 35 at Taj Vivanta Fisherman’s Cove  (google map link) for our few-days’ rest n feast stay. Just a few steps from the Bay of Bengal. A few more steps to the buffet, pool, etc.

Good shell beach, found lots of those spirally-kind in various sizes. Although January, quite warm, as, well, it’s the tropics!

More from the drive Chennai-Bengaluru.

Two large classic gates for entry into… something, and a modern gateway into a highwayside Hotel, or cafe in Indian English, where we stopped to stretch legs and toss down a coffee and, you know.

Veg meaning no meat products offered.

Also in the same urban shopping area, the out-the-window shots had a bit more time due to traffic jam so was able to get some images of the oft-seen multi-pillion riding on motorbikes that is quite common.

Not unusual to see even babies propped up between driver and handlebars getting the front row seat.

Scheduled for 03:03 on 3/3. But enough of that already!

In early 2014 we tried to take a relaxing trip to a coastal resort south of Chennai on the eastern coast. Cross-country driving is not like we are used to in the ‘States!

Among the interesting sceneries to and fro the resort, a rural church with Reaching Out* Jesus atop a spire, and a typical urban shopping area on a main street with a visually riffing electric pole.

Happy March by the way, scheduling the post at 13:16 on 1 Mar 16.

*o how I hate the overuse of “reaching out”. makes me sick.
